If this sounds like you

Does any of this feel familiar?

These are the kinds of stories I hear every week. You are not broken, and you are not alone.

Reflective portrait01

Danny

Had always struggled in school. Everyone knew he was smart, and he tested well, but he simply couldn’t focus the way that his peers could. He’d find himself rereading the same paragraph again and again, unable to absorb the information.

He was extremely disorganized and struggled with time management, frequently missing assignments and forgetting important things. Others labeled him a “daydreamer,” but no one was more frustrated than Danny himself.

Thoughtful portrait02

Kristin

Feels trapped in her grief. It had been nearly six months since her son died in a car accident, and she still couldn’t process it. She felt overwhelmed and struggled to eat, sleep, or get out of bed.

Some people who initially offered support had grown impatient. But they didn’t understand the depth of her pain. She wasn’t sure she would ever be able to move forward.

Family enjoying time together03

Mike & Allison

Aren’t sure where to go from here. They’ve been married for years and still love each other, but lately they’ve grown distant and argumentative.

Between children, careers, and household responsibilities, they have little time for one another. They don’t want to give up on what they’ve built, but know things can’t continue as they are.

01   FOCUS & ADHD

Danny

Was referred to me by his school counselor, and through a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation, we determined that Danny had been struggling with ADHD the whole time. Equipped with this information, we helped him develop better executive functioning skills and start on a small dose of medication. Now, he’s able to keep up with school and feels more confident in his abilities every day.

02   GRIEF

Kristin

Was lost when she reached out. In our sessions, she soon discovered that this work wasn’t about getting over or past her grief, but rather, learning to carry it in a healthy and affirming way. She found comfort in a support group for other grieving parents. Now, Kristin knows she will always be heartbroken about her son’s death, but she’s proud to be living the life she knows he would want her to.

03   MARRIAGE

Mike & Allison

Were at the end of their ropes when they called me. Together, we used the gold standard for marriage therapy – The Gottman Method – to address their issues. Soon, they learned to manage conflict, improve communication, rekindle friendship, restore intimacy, and create shared meaning. Now, they feel closer than they have in years and remember why they fell in love in the first place.
